A visit to Albion Stone on the island of Portland in Dorset to select some Portland Stone for a project in London. Above, a block from the quary is being sliced up into slabs.

A similar block to the one above after having been sliced up.

Amazing the things that you find!

Albion Stone's in-house masons at work.

Bowers Roach with its distinctive Turreted Gastropods (Portland Screws) and clam shells. This stone is to be used as wall cladding in a garden and will be closely up-lit in order express the voids.

The Jurassic Coast later in the afternoon, after the factory visit.
